Criteria for Application
This scholarship may be presented annually to at maximum two (2) students. Each institution may submit no more than three (3) official nominations. Applicants for these scholarships should meet the following criteria:
✓ Distinguished academically with overall grade point of 3.0 or above (based on a maximum of 4.0) or its equivalent
✓ Current member of the ORPS.
✓ Must have at least a junior standing in college work
✓ Park or Recreation major and have achieved distinction as a university or college scholar, initiating a desire to become a professional in the field of Park or Recreation, or plan to continue in graduate study in one of these areas
✓ Shall have conducted him/herself in a manner that has brought credit to him/herself of their institution
✓ Consideration will be given to participation in other campus activities in which he/she has had the opportunity to demonstrate their qualities of leadership and serve as an example to fellow students
✓ There are two (2) different forms to be completed:
The student form to be completed and signed by the nominee
The nomination form from faculty member at students university.
✓ In addition to the forms, application must be accompanied by:

The following guidelines will apply to scholarships:
Should the recipient of the ORPS scholarships for any reason leave the State of Oklahoma to continue his/her education or drop the curriculum area of Parks & Recreation, the ORPS scholarship shall be voided and awarded to the second most outstanding applicant. This scholarship will be awarded at the ORPS Annual Fall Conference. A certificate, suitable for framing, alluding to the achievement of the individual, shall also be presented.
Student scholarship(s): One (1) scholarship cannot exceed $500
Alvin Eggling Student Scholarship: One (1) scholarship cannot exceed $1000
