Oklahoma Recreation and Parks Society
2019 OK Team Fitness Challenge
Welcome to the Oklahoma Team Fitness Challenge! The OKTFC will begin on August 15 and run through October 25, 2019. After your team has registered with an Oklahoma Recreation and Park Society TFC Official, you will be able to start earning points. The point chart which designates approved activities and their OKTFC point values is included in the information. As you can see, you will always be able to earn points for being active, whether at work, play or home. Check out your local recreation center for scheduled activities that will increase your fitness. The emphasis of this program is to increase your knowledge and participation of a healthy, long- term life style while having fun!
There is a limit of 6 members per team with a fee of $5 per member. Please note that anyone in your community can be on a team. ORPS encourages multiple teams from all cities. The Team Captain from each team is responsible for making sure all points are submitted to your city’s designated ORPS TFC coordinator. Team Captains will show their ORPS TFC coordinator walking steps recorded for each member using a pedometer or fitness tracking app like FitBit, MyFitnessPal, or GoogleFit to collect additional points for daily walking. The ORPS TFC Coordinator will then record all points for each team and send the information to the ORPS Ways and Means Committee. There will be one official point record kept by the Ways and Means Committee.
The Oklahoma Recreation Park Society Facebook page will be updated each week with the team’s rankings. You will also find health tips, fitness tips, and information about the Challenge HERE .
This isn’t just an opportunity to have fun, spend time with your family, friends, co-workers, and get healthy – you can also earn rewards! Team participants and teams who have earned the most points will be recognized on Facebook and in the weekly newsletter. We are also contacting many possible sponsors and may be able to acquire giveaway items such as pedometers, t-shirts, water bottles, etc., to give out as awards and incentives. During the ORPS Conference in November, plaques will be awarded to the top three teams collecting the most fitness points and the winning city who had earned the most points as a team.
Now get out there and earn some points! Enjoy Exercising!
